We collect as little as a guide can. This page is the record of what that means, who we are, and what you can ask us to do with a message you sent.

What we collect
If you email us, we receive the address you sent from, the content of the message, and whatever metadata your mail provider attaches. If you accept cookies, we store a single consent flag in your browser via localStorage. If you reject non-essential cookies, we store that choice the same way so the banner does not return on every page. We do not run advertising pixels, analytics suites, or social-media trackers on this site.
Why
We read mail to answer it. The legal basis is legitimate interests in operating an editorial inbox, and, where you are asking us to do something specific, steps at your request. The cookie flag is stored so we can respect your choice — a legitimate interest in not pestering you, and compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
How long
Email is kept for up to two years unless you ask us to delete it sooner, or we must keep it longer to resolve a dispute. The cookie flag stays until you clear site data or choose again.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, and objection, and you can ask for a copy of data you provided. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Processors and transfers
Email is delivered by ordinary internet mail. We do not sell lists. We do not run a newsletter from this site. If that changes, this page will change first.
